2009? Bring it on!
Hey WB friends – it’s Monday morning and I’m just getting back to work after the break since Christmas Eve. On a personal note, it was a great week and a half of time with family at the pond, sledding, and celebrating birthdays and holidays. Thanks to everyone for the grace of a weekend off. I heard many were bummed to miss a weekend, but I think, looking back, that it gave everyone on our staff (both paid and unpaid) a well-needed breath after the Christmas run.
Here’s just a couple notes of great promise. First of all – Christmas Eve was amazing. I hope you all had the chance to take it in, because I’m not sure when you’ll see scripture reading snowflakes and the support of an orchestra during our worship set. You might just have to wait as well till you see our famous carolers, ice luminaries and 5 great suggestions on how you can use 2 extra hours on a weekend :). However, if you did miss the message, you can dial in to our site to catch that because you won’t want to miss Bob’s message on how one man had a face to face encouter with God that changed his life.
Also – I sure hope you didn’t let the snow and ice keep you from coming this last weekend because it was an amazing kickstart to the 2009 year. Kenny and his crew led us through a great set of homegrown music, sincere worship and an offertory that I just couldn’t get enough of. We also had the Ruby Tuesday’s night which apparently sold out in 20 minutes as well as the montly homemade brunch on Sunday. Oh, and I should also mention that we had the biggest Sunday 11:05 attendance since becoming a video venue. At the 11:05 we had to open the back wall for the first time as over 820 people filled our worship center. I found myself filled (and still filled) with emotion in watching this many people coming to church to worship their Creator and learn about God’s return. If this last weekend is any indicator of what’s to come in 2009…BRING IT ON!
Thanks to all of you that have made WBL the “homey” place that it is and for the many of you that work tirelessly as our faithful volunteers to love people into this place. It’s an honor to work alongside of you and I am eager to see what God is up to in His Church and this WB location!
