Good morning Meg and Dave (Nelly and Sara),

Scripture: “If I have the gift of prophecy, can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have faith that can move mountains, but don’t have love, I am nothing.” 1 Cor. 12:2

Application: I’ve always thought that the things Paul lists are pretty important. I spent 11 years of higher education sharpening my teaching (prophetic) gift and gaining knowledge. I read and study every day to get more knowledge. Words and knowledge are my life. I work hard at gathering, writing and communicating knowledge every day and week.

I spent three years putting a book together filled with words and knowledge. Knowing things and solving things is a big part of what I do.

Paul also mentions faith that can move mountains. Faith is important. I am a person of faith; faith is the pathway to salvation. Knowledge, faith, teaching and truth—I’ve given my life to those things.

BUT if I don’t love others it amounts to NOTHING. Not even a little, not even something, not any good, worthless, zero, of no value. Nothing. How do I love others? Do I truly love others? Paul says that the first aspect of love is patience. “Love is patient and kind.” This is how God measures my true value and work.

Prayer: Oh boy, Lord, help me get this and embody it. Help me love people with patience and kindness. These are biggies for me. Help me be a more patient and kind person. This’ll be work, so please help me. I love you, Bob.

I love you guys; praying for you.

Trying to be more loving,
Dad
