In Less than a Year!

When I arrive for the weekend services each Saturday and Sunday, I pause to thank God for all He’s doing at Eagle Brook Church as a whole, and in particular, how He’s working at our Spring Lake Park campus.

Watching our volunteers use their gifts to serve others and listening to stories of changed lives causes me to stand in awe. On more than once occasion, I’ve caught myself reflecting on the reality that we opened the doors just nine months ago. Yes, before our first anniversary we’re experiencing a depth of transformation that typically takes years to achieve.

In addition to what God is doing in and among us, He’s also using us to make a difference in our community. Consider the recent Eagle Brook outwardly focused church initiatives. Through the Bridging event, we provided truckloads of furniture for families in transition. Through the food drive, we helped feed the hungry in partnership with our local food pantries. And through our backpack drive, we resourced urban churches with outreach tools as we made school supplies freely accessible to three thousand kids.

God has also worked through us to send mission teams to Norway, Mozambique, Ukraine and Mexico. And when we don’t have a hands-on presence, the work of ministry and mission continues around the world through our global partners.

During our services last weekend, we discussed the God’s Amazing Church campaign. I thought about how our Spring Lake Park campus became a reality because of the generosity of Eagle Brookers who stretched themselves to advance the vision of multi-site church expansion. I reflected on the enormous investment of the former Spring Lake Park Baptist Church congregation as they released their resources to advance God’s kingdom.

In-between the services last weekend, I watched our Spring Lake Park church family gather around the God’s Amazing Church campaign table and adopt financial pledges at various dollar amounts to help this remarkable movement of God continue. I was so pleased with the people at our campus. To think that we have the privilege to give beyond our regular offerings so others can experience God’s love and have the opportunity to become followers of Christ.

September 6 and 7 is Fall Kickoff. We’ll be celebrating all God has done at Eagle Brook this past year as well as launching our new ministry year. Fall Kickoff will also mark the initiation of the simulcast broadcast of our services. In order to synchronize our services with the Lino Lakes campus, we’ll move our start time to 5 minutes after the hour. We’ll also add a new 4:05 service on Saturday afternoon that will be the same as our current services. All four of our weekend services will be virtually live.

New Schedule beginning September 6/7

Saturday: 4:05 pm, 6:05 pm

Sunday:    9:05 am, 11:05 am

What does this mean for us? It means that we’ll have the tools in place to become more effective in reaching others for Christ. It also means that many of our church family will have the option to choose a Saturday service in order to open seats on Sunday mornings for our first time guests. It means that we’ll have more flexibility for inviting our friends and family to attend a weekend service. It means that more people will be able to experience a church that is real and relevant.

I’m grateful for the accomplishments of the past nine months. I’m eager to participate in all that God is going to do in the year ahead. I’m glad you’re along for the ride.
