It’ll Take Us All
Easter is less than a month away. With the bite of winter weather and the early arrival of Easter this year, it doesn’t feel much like a typical spring celebration. However, the reality that Christ arose from the grave gives reason to celebrate regardless of the temperature outside.
We’re scheduling 17 Easter services across our three campuses—all 17 services are the same. You’ll have a similar experience regardless of which service time or campus you choose. We’re offering 6 of the services at Spring Lake Park. Easter weekend provides an extraordinary opportunity for all of us to share our faith in a non-threatening way by simply inviting someone to attend. To be most effective in communicating Christ to our community, we’re asking you to do three things:
First, invite everyone you know to attend. Chances are, someone in your sphere of influence is just waiting for an invitation to attend church…and they’ll go to any church if they’re invited. There won’t be a better season than Easter to invite friends, family, neighbors, coworkers and strangers to Eagle Brook. Our teams are working around the clock to create an Easter experience that will change lives—you don’t want to miss it, and you’ll want others to experience it as well.
Second, if you’re available, sign-up to serve. More worship services will provide more opportunities for you to use the gifts God’s given you to serve others. It’s true that volunteering during Easter weekend will demand longer hours than usual. But the investment will pay off as our guests hear the Good News that Jesus is alive and that he offers eternal life to all who follow him. It’ll take all of us working as a team to serve others well.
Third, if you have options, please consider changing your routine for Easter weekend. By choosing one of the additional service times—Saturday at 2 and 4 pm or Sunday at 1 pm—you’ll help make the most desired seating available for those who are seeking Christ. Eagle Brook has a history of doing whatever it takes to reach others for Christ. Easter weekend is our opportunity to sacrifice our personal preferences so that others will have the option to become followers of Christ. SLP is our church home and we want to be good hosts. We’ll show remarkable hospitality by making the most desired service times available to our guests.
Over the next couple of weekends I’ll announce how you can let us know which service you’re planning to attend. So, be thinking about and discussing which service you and your guests will choose for Easter. By the way, if you have the opportunity to bring someone who is seeking Christ, please feel free to opt for any of the six services that the person is willing to attend, even if you must change your original plans at the last minute.
Did someone go out of their way to point you toward God as you were becoming a follower of Christ? I’d enjoy reading about your experience.
