Lobby Renovations Complete—New Kid-O-Deo Classroom Opens

posted April 28, 2009 by Steve Whicker | |

The sound of Ooohs and Ahhhs wafted throughout the Spring Lake Park lobby as smiling attenders caught their first glimpse of the newly completed gathering space including coffee shop, bookstore and information desk. Positive comments abounded:

“It feels so warm and welcoming.”

“It’s a place I want to bring my friends.”

“I could hang out here every day.”

As we come on the weekends, let’s remember that the gathering space is not just for our enjoyment, it’s a new tool to help us reach others for Christ.

And speaking of reaching others for Christ, the Corner House gives us an opportunity to open seats in the main worship center for our guests at 11:05 on Sunday mornings. The worship experience in the Corner House is unique to all our Eagle Brook campuses—and a very good experience at that.

I’m asking 150 regular attenders at the 11:05 service to make the Corner House your first choice—in other words, don’t wait for the main worship center to fill up before you choose the Corner House, rather, make the Corner House your destination.

Think about it, if 150 people choose to worship at the Corner House on Sunday at 11:05, there will be 150 open seats in the main worship center for our guests. This is so important during our marriage series when people are inviting friends and family. After all, many first-time guests arrive a little late because they don’t know how everything works (like the parking, shuttle service, kid’s check-in, etc.). It’s somewhat embarrassing to say to a first-time attender, “The worship center is full, do you mind walking over to the Corner House?”

And to make your experience at the Corner House even better, we’re providing free coffee and bottled water throughout the marriage series.

If we’re going to reach others for Christ, we must have a servants heart and give of ourselves. Let’s all work together to fill the Corner House every Sunday for the next four weeks.

And more adults in the worship center results in more kids in Kid-O-Deo and Club K-Rock. So, our facilities team has worked diligently to make another room available. And another available room provides more opportunities for more people to serve. So, if you’re interested in serving in kid’s ministry, you can begin the process by clicking here. We’re making every effort to provide a fun, safe, enjoyable environment for all our kids.

I’m amazed at how God is working at Spring Lake Park…and I’m glad you’re part of the journey!
