Supernatural: Spiritual Warfare

On April 9/10, Pastor Jason Strand continued the Supernatural series with a message on spiritual warfare.

As you aware that you’rein a battle—spiritually speaking? Are you aware of what Satan’s schemes might be in your life? In 1 Corinthians, Paul says that he’s aware of what Satan’s schemes are; they weren’t a secret. And yet our world is, as a whole, quite confused about how Satan works.

The spiritual battle that is raging is real. You can’t see Satan, but he is real and he will zap you.

“Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devor,” 1 Peter 5:8.

Satan has a plan for your life—to devour you. The bottom line is: Satan hates you.

How does Satan try to devour us? It is possible to know.

Satan schemes to:

1. Get you to believe false things about God.

This is the number one way that Satan works; false teaching.

To defeat it: Know the Bible well.

See Matthew 4:5-6 and 2 Cor. 11:14-15.

2. To accuse you.

See Rev. 12:10.

To defeat it: You frequently remind yourself of your standing with God because of Jesus Christ.

You are God’s child!

This is the most noticeable form of spiritual warfare; it’s that voice that says, “Who are you??”

3. To stop us from going where God wants us to go.

To defeat it: Push through resistance.

Resistance is not a sign that you are out of God’s will.

See 1 Thess. 2:18 and 2 Cor. 4:4.

4. To get you to doubt God.

To defeat it: Pray and wait in faith.

See Daniel 10:12-14 and Eph. 6:11.
