Unshaken Faith … When the Writing’s on the Wall
On Aug. 28/29, Senior Pastor Bob Merritt continued the Daniel series with “Unshaken Faith … When the Writing’s on the Wall.”
How do you react when a friend, co-worker or family member tries to warn you about a sin, habit or behavior that they observe in you? Do you get defensive, blow them off or criticize them back?
Or do you have the maturity to pause, reflect on what they’re saying, thank them and then try to work on it?
Daniel 5 contains three huge lessons:
1. Every one of us knows.
Is there any area of your life where you know, but are choosing to ignore it?
2. Pride is the main barrier that keeps us from dealing with what we know.
“You knew. Yet you have not humbled yourself before the Most High God. You have set yourself up against God,” Daniel 5:22-23.
Pride prevents us from looking at our flaws. (See: Daniel 5:20.)
3. The direction of your path will determine your destination.
